SQEES is all about the environment. It is where we live, work and play. This is what we consistently do to meet our environmental commitments which we set out in our Environment and sustainability policy:

We reduce our carbon footprint by –


  • Running the SQEES office on solar energy and exporting to the grid.
  • Maintaining flexible working arrangements to minimise unnecessary travel.
  • Procuring local goods.
  • Reducing travel by scheduling client visits and / or necessary procurement together.
  • Choosing office items which have a smaller carbon footprint where possible.
  • Continually looking for ways to further reduce our carbon footprint.

We reduce our waste by –


  • Applying the avoid - reduce – reuse – recycle principles.
  • Minimising paper use by maximising electronic communication.
  • Receiving all bills and invoices by email.
  • Procuring locally.
  • Shopping in store where possible.
  • Using reusable shopping bags or no bags where possible.
  • Creating note pads from scrap paper.
  • Preferencing goods suppliers who use minimal and / or recyclable packaging.
  • Choosing office items which have minimal and / or recyclable packaging where possible.
  • Preferencing suppliers who are aligned with our environmental principles.
  • Recycling and composting waste.
  • Continually looking for ways to further reduce our waste.
  • Supporting suppliers who are aligned with our principles.

We protect environmental values by –


  • Supporting land for wildlife around the SQEES office.
  • Not feeding the wildlife which inhabits the area around the office.
  • Recording flora and fauna data.
  • Observing and not disturbing wildlife whist in the field.
  • Promoting positive environmental behaviours.
  • Continually looking for ways to increase the way we protect and promote environmental values.
